The PACT center was established in 2021 with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office. Led by Sandia National Laboratories, the PACT center team included the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Black and Veatch, CFV Labs, and EPRI until September 2024. Starting in October 2024, PACT revised its mission and team. Now PACT is focused on all new and emerging PV module technologies (e.g., perovskite, tandems, organic, etc.) and only includes Sandia National Laboratories and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Our Purpose
New PV technologies are being developed faster than testing and evaluation standards making it especially challenging to evaluate and validate performance and reliability claims. The PACT center aims to develop, validate and document testing standards capable of accurate characterization of field performance and degradation prediction. The center will operate an extensive field-testing campaign as well as serve as an objective and neutral source of information and analysis for the investment and finance communities.
Partnerships
The PACT center is partnering with companies and universities to help test and validate new perovskite PV module technologies.
Industry Partners
The PACT center will work with industry partners to test their emerging PV technologies. Check Publications and Protocols for more information about how to partner.
